Run, don't walk to this site:

I just got hundreds of plastic miniatures of sci-fi troops and spaceships for less than $20.
They are the pieces to TSR's old Buck Rogers boardgame, but will do rather nicely for Traveller.

The figures are pretty close to standard 25mm scale. The "troops" have a rifle, backpack and helmet, the "soldiers" carry 2 pistols each, and the "generals" come in a variety of poses and are slightly larger than the others.
The various spaceships are about an inch long.
Of course they aren't sculture-quality, but are still pretty darn useful.

Thanks for the tip Doc. Skull! I've found lots of things an imaginative referee can put to use!
