I'm putting together a subsector map and I was wondering if I used the "no water present" symbol for a system if the UWP if and only if the world hydrographics digit is 0, or is there a limit?

From what I can tell, a world is shown as "no water" if its hydrographics is 0, or if its atmosphere is A+ (indicating fluid seas). (Not counting the numerous mistakes.)

Do note that the atmosphere check should only be for A-C, not A+, but none of the official data (except for 1248) does that check correctly.

But is it saying "no water", or "no hydrogen source to fuel from"? Fluid seas usually contain hydrogen (liquid CH4, NH3, HCl, whatever) after all.

I had a chance to to look over a few other sector maps and I see how it works: "No water" means NO WATER, everything else counts as a water world.

Yes, no water means no water.

Do note, that most maps have several mistakes. For example, both the classic 1105 and 1110 maps of the Spinward Marches has several mistakes on them.
